Fox Program Conversion
FoxDev has substantial experience in converting old Fox apps (Foxbase, FoxPro for DOS, FoxPro for Windows)
to Visual FoxPro. Several approaches can be taken depending on company needs:
- Functional Conversion: get the application running under VFP with the least amount
of time and money, providing an app that works but may not be pretty. Good for
existing applications that have a short life-expectancy or limited user interface screens.
- Partial Conversion: calculation and processing code is left largely as it is, with only
user interface screens being rewritten to take advantage of the modern Windows look and functionality.
- Full Rewrite: the entire application is rewritten from scratch using an object-oriented programming
approach and modern design. The old application is analyzed to determine business rules and logic, but
recoded in VFP methods.
